It’s all about the SHOES

This season, shoes are taking centre stage! Make sure you take note to buy some bold colours and stylish prints to add to your shoe wardrobe this Spring.

When it comes to shoes I usually stay safe, I think the most ‘out there’ pair of shoes I have are my sparkly converse! However tonight I went along to one of my favourite places to shop ‘next Braehead’ to take a look and try on shoes in their Spring collection and fell in love with so many beautiful colours and patterns I usually wouldn’t go for.

Here’s what I tried…

The colour pop!

I LOVE these! pair them with a pair of ripped denims and a white shirt or a cute Spring dress to add some colour to your outfit.

The Metallic!

Metallics are a must right now and you can pair these with almost any outfit. I would wear these with a LBD or a pair of ankle jeans and a blazer. Or I would pair them with my calf length black tulle skirt for a more smarter look.

Stand out style!

You will definitely stand out with these stunning boots which are also incredible comfortable.

What I went for…

I decided on these stunning and a little daring snake skin boots with the cut – out heel. I cannot wait to wear these! For their first outing I will probably pair them with a pair of black ripped jeans from next and a white shirt and belt.

I am so impressed with Next! They have a fantastic choice of shoes for whatever occasion from bold coloured boots to trendy trainers and work shoes, they have a fantastic range of everything. Keep an eye on the blog to see more outfit pics featuring these beauties!

Next time you visit the store remember to take a shoefie with your favourite shoes and share your picture on Instagram and tag @nextofficial with #nextshoefie for your chance to win a brand NEW pair of shoes every month for a year! How fabulous is that!

Fizz, Fashion and Cupcakes at 360 Champagne and Cocktails

I am super excited about this blog because I know that if you are a fan of cocktails, bubbly, cupcakes and fashion you will get excited too. What girl doesn’t love these?!

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to 360 Champagne and Cocktails bar in Buchanan Galleries, Glasgow to one of their events which they hold on Thursday nights. Each week it is a different event, the first one I went to was a cupcake decorating class and oh my these were delicious – the diet went out the window that night! Ha! Just kidding this diet I have been talking about starting for the past year hasn’t lasted more than a couple of hours. Anyway back to cupcakes, a girl called Carrie who is a fantastic baker and chef came along and showed us the different techniques and designs you can use to decorate your cupcakes, she showed us how to make them into roses- these are so beautiful! Perfect for weddings or girly nights. We all got a shot of decorating them and this was much harder than it looked. Then the best part- we got to eat them :) They tasted just as good as they looked! After that my mum and I sat and enjoyed some complimentary champagne for going along to the event and some tasty cocktails. The team at the bar are all wonderful very talented mixologists and great to chat to!

I enjoyed it so much so that I went to the next event the week after which was a talk by the personal stylists from the OASIS Glasgow Flagship store. I went along with my friend Nina who is also a blogger we enjoyed some complimentary champagne and had a gossip before the event started. The girls Rosalind and Danielle came along with a rail of stunning spring and summer outfits (I wanted to buy it all) they spoke to us individually about the trends and how we can get the most wear out of our outfits which was fantastic. The girls were so helpful and got us really excited about our next shopping trip. What I was very surprised about is that the personal shopping service in Oasis is free! Do you need a wardrobe overhaul? Help with some summer outfits or an outfit for an event you are going to? The girls will make sure you have a fantastic experience, enjoy fizz, nibbles, girly chat and pretending you are Cher from Clueless for the day. How fabulous does this sound? If you are interested in booking an appointment follow the link here- http://www.oasis-stores.com/fcp/content/My-Personal-Stylist-booking/content

The girls are so lovely and I can’t wait for my personal shopping experience. What I am always nervous about is going along not liking anything but feeling like you have to buy something but what is great is that the girls want to make sure you go out the door happy and confident and will even give you advice on other clothes you have bought from other stores too. Why not have a girly day out shopping and enjoying some cocktails or a delicious afternoon tea at 360 Champagne and Cocktails Bar?

Are you a student? You are entitled to 2 for 1 cocktails at the bar- lucky you! Take a break from studying and de-stress for a while…
2 for 1

It would be lovely to see you at the next event which is Thursday at 5:30pm and is Fabulous Fizz Tasting, There will be a glass of fizz waiting for you on arrival!

My Workout Essentials

I am sure you have heard the saying ” Look good, feel good, do good” well it definitely works for me!

If you have not yet seen the stunning Mirelle Activewear range then take a look here https://mirelleactivewear.com/  I fell in love instantly with the brand as the designs were vibrant and fun! The activewear makes you feel and look good when working out the material is light and soft too. Previously I would have worn all black to the gym but I love these yellow and black leggings they are fun and get you in the mood for working out.

Mirelle Activewear also have a great range of all – in – one suits which are just fabulous! No more pulling up your leggings every time you do a burpee! They also make your stomach look super flat too yeyy!

Another one of my must have’s for the gym is my Core 150 protein shaker! These are amazing as they have a compartment inside the shaker which can be removed where you can store extra protein powder or like me nuts and fruit. I tend to use mine to hold my green slimming detox smoothie or detox water usually water with cucumber, strawberry’s and lemon.  Get your’s at http://www.core150.com/

Festival Must Have’s

The festival season is approaching us and you will probably be starting to pick up some essentials. Last year I worked at T In The Park in The Scottish Sun Artists Signing Tent. It was great fun as I worked with three of my lovely friends who I shared my Miss Scotland experience with in 2011 and we met lots of celebs too!

When packing for my five days of camping I started to panic as I had never been camping for more than one night and did not know how on earth I was going to look presentable to work with celebs without what I would have said were my daily essentials. However I realised I just could not take everything I wanted with me. Here are some of my top picks and must have’s if you are off to a festival this summer…

Batiste Dry Shampoo

One can of this will do you. Try the Tropical one it smells amazing and leaves your hair with a little bounce too!

BaByliss Gas Hair Straighteners

These are a fantastic buy at only £25.99 from Amazon. I used these to straighten my hair and also on a couple of days add some waves to it. They come with two power cells which will be more than enough for you.

Boots Cucumber Cleansing Wipes

One of my fav essentials in my make up bag! These wipes are fabulous at only £1.50 too! I took three packs of these. They leave your face and body feeling and even smelling refreshed too.

Victoria’s Secret Pure Seduction Body Spray

I first bought this when I was 16 at an airport and have been in love with it ever since. It stays on just as long as perfume does and there are lot’s of other scents to choose from too. My favourite is Pure Seduction – a flirty, floral fragrance with succulent red plum and sweet freesia. The spray is also infused with conditioning aloe vera and calming chamomile.

Joules Wellies

I bought these last minute as I realised that festivals can get muddy and my converse and pretty sandals might just not do, especially if it rained which it did! Joules have so many gorgeous colours and prints to choose from don’t you think those ribbons are soo cute?

Do you have any festival essentials you advise us to pick up? Leave your comments below :)
